Our Story

The journey began after the founders, Jimmy and Chase Miller, and their family visited Israel in March of 2010. While standing on an area called Abraham’s Ridge, the Lord brought to mind the story of Abraham (Genesis 22) and his unwavering faith and trust in the Lord. They sensed that the Lord was calling them to something much bigger and broader, and they responded like Abraham saying, “Hineni” (hee-nay-Knee), which means, “Here I am.”

Hineni is a powerful and layered statement with the idea of total abandonment and unconditional giving–“I am nothing; You are everything.” God has since taken Chase to the Dominican Republic soon after the January 2010 earthquake. The door opened to Kenya in 2011 for Jimmy and Chase. They have served their Kenyan brothers and sisters multiple times since that first visit.

Chase is an Otolaryngologist (ear, nose and throat surgeon). She operates in rural Kenyan regions, especially at Tenwek Hospital serving mainly the Kipsigis and Maasai tribes. She trains African general surgery residents through the Pan-African Academy of Christian Surgeons training program (PAACS). She also trains family practice residents in ENT skills. She has served with Kenya Relief in Migori, AIC-CURE at Kijabe repairing cleft lip and palate deformities, and in Togo, West Africa. She serves mainly with Samaritan’s Purse with the World Medical Mission branch.

Jimmy has been serving in the water filter area by providing Sawyer PointONE water filters to orphanages, boarding schools, churches, hospital staff, hospital chaplains, and local Kenyans. They have also been supporting the Kitoben Children’s Centre.  Initial support was to bring clean water, but this has grown to support buildings, school fees, and social entrepreneurship to help the orphanage be self-supportive.
